Natural Disaster Emergency Plan
In the event of an earthquake or natural disaster requiring the closure of the school, the following procedures have been established to assist in the orderly release of our students.
- If you are unable to come to the school, contact the designated guardian to collect your child (names as per the verification demographic sheet).
- Do NOT phone the school; we must have the lines open for emergency calls.
No student will be allowed to leave with another person, even a relative or babysitter, unless that particular person is listed as the student’s Emergency Contact in our school’s records.
All parents or designated guardians who come for students MUST SIGN THEM OUT at the Student Release Station (south gate). Please go directly to that station and request the child by name. Please do not directly seek out the child as teachers have established routines for their orderly release. Following calm, orderly procedures will help all children feel less frightened.
If your child requires daily medication or has a medical condition that would require special attention, please note details on student verification sheets to be returned, and follow-up with a phone call to the school as soon as possible.
It will be necessary for the school to have a 48-hour supply of any essential medication that is needed to sustain your child (i.e. insulin for diabetes).
